about

Official soundtrack, produced in partnership with the original composers.

*****FM-TOWNS (OPN2) VERSION*****
The FM-TOWNS (OPN2) is a daughter version of the original Roland MT-32 version of the soundtrack. The original themes were arranged and programmed by the Japanese musician Takeshi Abo for the OPN2 soundchip for the FM-TOWNS version of the game.

Version A of the soundtrack is heard if Might and Magic IV is played alone, while version B is heard if Might and Magic IV and V are both installed together on the harddrive, forming World of Xeen.

Due to driver programming errors, in the actual game, version A of the soundtrack plays very corrupted. "v.A" is how the music should have sounded, "v.A errored game version" is how the music wrongly sounded.

This soundtrack has been recorded using a real FM-TOWNS equipped with a OPN2 soundchip.

*****FM-TOWNS (CD-DA) VERSION*****
The FM-TOWNS (CD-DA) version is a digital recording of the Roland MT-32 version of the music after it was converted into the game's .M format by Todd Hendrix. Therefore, due to a programming error, the music is played back at a pitch unintended by the original composers. This recording was included on the CD-ROM version of the FM-TOWNS port of the game for bonus material.

Bonus material:
(#1) Commentary by Takeshi Abo (original Japanese + English translation).
(#2) Detailed archival tracklist.

The archival soundtrack series contains all known music from said title, including 1 second jingles, unused music, beta versions, and more.

Soundtrack and any bonus materials may not be re-distributed elsewhere without the express permission of Xeen Music.
