about

Album published by Xeen Music (2023-01-01).

This album includes seven live arrangements of original MIDI music from Neal Grandstaff's stock music library. In the 90's, most of these themes were non-exclusively licensed to Sierra, finding themselves in "Police Quest 4", "Space Quest 6", and "Twisty History" (a.k.a. "Pepper's Adventures in Time"), Therefore, each track has been titled with both a generic stock music name, as well as a title to reflect its familiar usage in Sierra's products.

In the words of Neal Grandstaff:
"The compositions in this offering is a compilation of original songs that were first produced as MIDI sequences with the use of the Roland Sound Canvas, as the “sound source”. To finally have put these tunes through their natural metamorphosis, and to have them performed and recorded in a live studio environment, was a real joy.

"The personnel were absolutely the best choices for each tune. The production required two different rhythm sections, a flexible “mix and match” studio horn section, and added percussion. This broad variety of input from these great players has made this production one of my all-time favorites. I have to say, this stable of wonderfully seasoned pros and strong youthful performers have really done this material justice. It has been an honor to have worked with one and all. All the songs have such a strong synergy that is so palpable, that you can really feel the groove. Now, for the first time, these songs have life. So... Thanks and gratitude to this fine crew, from Wavelength Studios, Falcon Recording Studios, DTW Horns, and the rest of the friends and musicians at GSP Audio/Sunrise Publishing."

If the album is purchased on Bandcamp or requested as a donation gift through Patreon, bonus beta mixes/versions of all seven tracks are also included as part of the download.

Soundtrack and any bonus materials may not be re-distributed elsewhere without the express permission of Xeen Music.
